BRIEF SUMMARY
A hired assassin, who wants to kill her, is hunting Celia. Celia is hybrid fae, who is apart of the Green Fae Clan. With her friends out of town, she goes to a vampire called, Evan, who she has to convince to provide her with protection.
THOUGHTS
`Bound by the Vampire' is the follow up novella to `Taming the Vampire', and I thought it was a good story. `Bound by the Vampire' was definitely more about the plot and story. I think the author gave us more of an in depth view of the Green Fae Clan.
The story dives right in, which is always a plus for me. Right away, it seems, Evan and Celia both are so opposite and yet it works within the plot. Evan is a rude, bad to the bone, and sexy vampire, and I loved his behavior. I also enjoyed his vampire tendencies throughout the book. Evan isn't a fan of the faeries, because of what they did to his maker years ago, so helping Celia, may not come easy at first. Celia is quite and very reserved, although she is only part fae. We got to know about her a bit in book 1, Taming the Vampire. Her explanation on why she is being chased was deep, Fae realm, dreams, and absinthe, it all ties in together. We also got to know a bit about the infamous assassin, Hawk, who is trying to kill her. I can only see good things taking place if there is to be a third book. I enjoyed seeing Liz and Jack again. They were an interesting twist that gave the end the push it needed.

My Thoughts
These two main characters couldn't be more different. Evan is living life looking out for number one and Celia lives her life looking for ways she can help others and make a difference. When they first meet, it certainly isn't love at first sight. He thinks she is incredibly naïve, fashion-impaired and kind of demented. (She wears a sweatshirt, sneakers and a fanny-pack to see a vampire, really?) Celia starts correcting him on his poor grammar. Not a good start. But something about her endears her to him and he finds her attractive despite her attire.
This novel reveals more about the source of Fae power, absinthe, and the impact that Celia's ideas could have on their world, not to mention her own well-being. We see characters grow, relationships build, assassins hired, and a great lead-in for future tales. Again, so effectively written, you are right there with the characters in their world.
My Viewpoint
In my opinion, this series has the makings of a great Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy story. If Ms. Hart can achieve what she has in a novella, I am sure eager to see what she can do with a full-length novel.

The author is killing me with these teasers!

I absolutely devoured the first installment of this short story series, Taming the Vampire, and read through this one with no less enthusiasm. It appears that it is indeed a series and I can only hope we get a full length novel at some point since it's absolute torture waiting to see what happens.
Celia is 1/8th Fae who conjures spells and makes potions within her clan. While her best pal Liz is away fighting demons in the north, Celia makes an earth shattering discovery. She believes the Absinthe elixir the Fae use to fortify their strength is opening the gateway to the dark Fae and bringing forth demons into their world. When she approaches the council with this information, the concept of weakening their species leads them to one solution, eliminate Celia. With that Celia's life has been forfeit and she turns to the only person, or rather vampire, the Fae won't think to look for her. Evan is an extremely selfish vampire who looks out only for himself. When Celia shows up at his club of debauchery, she offers to pay him for his protection, only he turns her away. Only there's something about her he can't resist so when he changes his mind and goes to find her, he finds not only her life is in danger, but his as well.
There's nothing else to call this book but a teaser. It's riveting, fast paced, entertaining, and sexy so that can't be a bad thing right? But nothing is wrapped up in the 1100 or so kindle pages and I guess we have to wait for the next installment to see what progresses. This storyline alone certainly makes it worthy of a full length novel but apparently we're only going to get it in snippets. Regardless, it's still an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the next.
